Sandgate VT Bike ~ Oct 19, 2017

Journal entry by Ken Gericke

 Hi Folks

18 riders came out on a gorgeous October day for this year's edition of the Sandgate Vt Loop bike ride. Due to repaving on rt 313 and our usual starting spot at the canoe access site along the Battenkill River, we began the day at the Arlington Vt Covered Bridge where we found ample parking. We had to negotiate about 1 mile of road construction before turning off 313 and heading for the 'outback' roads of Vt.

This seasons colors have been a little subdued, but the scenery on these old lanes never disappoint. In keeping with tradition and the Halloween season, we lunch in the Sandgate Town Cemetery. It really is a nice spot overlooking the little Village of Sandgate.

Only 5-6 miles after lunch back to our start...no more hills.....a great day on the road.

Thursdays' attendees: (Some CCs, CCs and also EZriders, and EZriders) Jim B, Jan, Peter, Linda, Charlie, Karen, Bob, Barbara, Glen Maria, Jeff, Mary Ellen, Joanne, Pat, Fran, Jim I, Neal, and Ken.

10/21/17 - Charlie Beach added 2 photos. 10/21/17 - Wanderer . added 10 photos.
