Spruce Mountain Firetower ~ Oct 19, 2016

Journal entry by Donna Wood

Another beautiful day to enjoy sunny, warm weather in the fabulous fall of 2016. Seven of us gathered to hike to the Spruce Mountain firetower in Corinth.  This is a new trail that was completed in 2015. At that time the tower was also refurbished. It was a fairly easy climb and as usual our leaders, Tom and Don always knew where to go.  We enjoyed the fall colors and walked on a carpet of bright yellow and brown leaves. After reaching the top, we climbed the 73 foot tower to see the views. Once again beautiful leave colors and views of Saratoga and Vermont in the distance. After a leisurely lunch we headed back down. A great hike with Don, Tom, Jim, Kirk, Ray and Pete.
